Wow what a couple of days since our last update!

We did manage a last scoop/Singapore sling in Raffles which did pan out to be rather more extravagant than planned but well worth it – tucking in to monkey nuts to detract from the wallet pain was an effective remedy.

The Singapore airline shuttle bus offered a good deal to Sentosa so we thought we’d give it a go. We were late to pick-up on the colour coding of the map (bad designer) so it took a little longer than planned but we reigned triumphant. I can only describe the island as kinda strange really – Singapore’s attempt at Disneyland that went a bit/very wrong. To give you an idea – one of it’s main attractions was err a “Merlion” – yep you guessed it half mermaid half lion stone thing – needless to say there was no photography at this time!

Good to see but not somewhere we’ll be looking to visit again.

Friday 5am we embark on the Malaysia trek. We didn’t really know how this would go after reading mixed reviews about the time it took to travel in the morning/immigration /connections etc. A summary would be: taxi to Singapore bus station, Bus to Jahor Bahru, Malaysia (through immigration/passport control), train to Kuala Lumpur, transfer to Bus Station, Coach to Alor Star (quick stay in horrible motel) taxi to Kuala Kebah jetty and ferry to Lankawi. And here we are in Zaks guest house in the west of the Island – idyllic setting, top tucker and very friendly people. Will try and upload some shots soon!

P&B x
