This afternoon we arrived to Brussels and our friend Joelle whom we meet in Nice, France was going to pick us up.  We were a little nervous because we weren't sure where, but we found her... or I should say she found us.  We piled into her car and headed to her place.

Joelle lives in the area where a lot of the Art-Nouveau architecture is found.  Her appartment is so amazing.  She bought it and then ripped it apart.  They knocked down walls and ripped down the false cieling to find the beautiful plaste one form the early 1900s and more.   I wanted to steal her place and take it home for me.

Today we walked down to the main square and Joelle showed us where the Best Chocolate in Belgium is made.  So, we went to Pierre Marcolini, Neuhaus (where we tried their specialty a chocolate covered chewy toffee filled with cream).  Yes, I know you are all mmming and awwwing...and also Godiva.  Honestly there were too many to name.  It was like going into a perfume shop and having perfect boxes everywhere except it was ALL chocolate.  It was like heaven in really expensive boxes.

Once we got back to her place we went and watched Love Actually which is one of my new favorite movies and then crawled into bed.  Tomorrow we are getting up to go to Bruggs.

April 22nd

Today we are taking a little day trip to Bruggs.  It is a very small town that is filled with canals just like Venice.  We enjoyed the small town atmosphere and the architecture.  We managed to find Bern a windmill and that was great.  Getting lots in the gorgeous streets was worth every minute and knowing that you were never far from anything.
