Greetings from Budva Montenegro.  Called the Budva Riviera.  We traveled further south down the coast of Montenegro Thur the bay of Kotar to Budva. Its the metropolis of Montenegro tourism.  The Russians seem to be buying all the property here, and the majority of tourists are Albanians, Serbs, and Croatians and 1 Jew from Texas.  LOL    It is rich in natural beauty, bays, islands, caves and cultural heritage.  Its old town has such narrow streets I have to walk sideways or at least hold in my stomach in to walk Thru town. This is the posh and beautiful people scene. The women are very shapely, thin and beautiful, and all the men have golden tans, square shoulders, are tall, thin,  and have six packs. I have not seen this many six packs since my last trip to 7-11.  LOL  I certainly have brought up the FPSI ratio.  ( fat per square inch). And of course they are all eating ice cream, nutello crepes, and pizza.  There must be some vitamins in there I am not receiving. LOL   I am lucky I have not been voted off the island yet!!!  There are over 20 beaches plus ferry boat rides to additional Island beaches.  Its a real dilemma as to what beach to go to.

The old town of Budva with its fortress and towers lie on a small islet which is connected to the land by a sand bank.  With the various colors of light along the coastline and the lighting up of the old town, This makes for a spectacular night life.  Whether sitting and sipping cappuccino or cocktails while watching the mega yachts, or having a drink in one of the dozens of outside cafes, or simply strolling old town, makes this a very dynamic and exciting city.  Budva is a cross between a mini Dubrovnik and the South of France. The mountains seem to spill into the ocean.  At night old town is turned into an outdoors open air music festival.  We just missed the rolling stone concert by a couple of days !  Not that I am old enough to remember them.

Walking Thur the caves, or on the cliffs and rock trails make for an exciting trip to the beaches.

We have even found a delicious Tex Mex restaurant that was quite good.  Several day trips via ferry boat have taken us to the fabulous island resort of Sveti Stevan, Petrovac and Pijesak.  Sveti Stevan is best know for a fashionable summer resort which I understand was recently bought by the Israeli's.  Its past guest included Sofie Loren, Doris Day , Sylvester Stalone, Jeremy Irons and one Jewish boy from Texas.  Go figure. It was voted the most exclusive resort in the world in 1972, but of course has not been touched since. It is now finally under renovation.  Budva represents one of he oldest settlements in Montenegro.  The Greeks and the Romans fought over Budva around the mid 2nd century BC.

Please enjoy some pictures.
