The early morning starts have become a bit of a habit and our taxi is waiting for us at 6:15am to take us to the airport. Its AirAsia again and the checkin and immigration are done with quickly and with any problem. Into the departure area and I realise I've left a piece of our hand luggage where we were sitting before checking in. The officials let me out and I race down stairs, its gone.  I ask one of the staff whether its been found and after some inquiries  I'm told its being xrayed in case its a bomb. After a short wait its returned and I mangae to get back in to the Departure area without any problem. the flight is uneventful and arrives early.

We are met by our limousine, a BMW 7 Series and taken to our hotel, The Lebua Hotel. As we arrive we are treated magnificently, greeted personally, taken to our room on the 59th floor and checked in by a staff member in our room. Fabulous service, a great start to our One Night. The room is a suite with panoramic views over Bangkok and has everything needed for our stay. After settling in and booking dinner at Sirocco we head out for a bit of a look and to buy a couple of last minute presents. We even manage to use the mass transit system with a minimum of fuss. As soon as we even look lost a local offers to direct us and I must say the bangkok people were extremely helpful and friendly. In the late afternoon carol has a massage and I just enjoy a short break.

Tonight has truly been One Night in Bangok.

Sirocco at 7pm, this, together with staying at Lebua, is the treat we promised ourselves for the end of our holiday, and we dress up in our finest, that we are carrying anyway. The restaurant is open air, on the 65th floor of where we are staying and has 360 degree views of Bangkok.  Getting out of the lift we are greeted and led to our table down a golden lit stairway and escorted to our oil lantern lit table. The surroundings are to be experienced, the back drop is the Golden Dome of State tower, a live and good jazz band playing behind us, marvellous views and excellent service. We have the set menu of 4 courses and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc as the dishes are seafood orientated in the main. The meal is a bit of a disappointment for what the restaurant styles itself as but the experience is worth the credit card charge! carol heads off and I linger at the bar to take it all in and enjoy the view a little longer. Tomorrow its the usual early start "firstly with the limousine to the airport and then home to Brisbane.

Tonight has truly been "One Night in Bangok."
