As a drinker of Kilkenny from way back I couldn’t resist a visit here! There is a beautiful castle on one side of town with lovely (and free) gardens. The sun was shining and we spent some time walking through here and admiring the old building.
The city is quite small and packed with pubs and restaurants. It has a real buzz and is a nice place to wander around. We also walked up to the other end of town to see the cathedral and the rather odd looking ‘round tower’ which is next to it.
As a drinker of Kilkenny from way back I couldn’t resist a visit here!

We had lunch on a terrace by the river looking up at the castle and basking in the sun – nice.
