So we crossed the border into Columbia which passed without so much as a hint of trouble - I told the guy at immigration that we were staying for a week and he said I´ll give you 90 days in case you want to stay longer!  Our first problem was getting lost on the way to the airport as all the roads in Ipiales were shut for a cycling competition and then our flight got delayed by a few hours due to some bad weather.

The airport was so small it was like going to the cinema at Baker Street - the same 2 guys do everything - they checked the truck when we arrived, checked us in, x-rayed our bags and let us on to the plane.

We eventually got into Bogota too late to check out the city so went for dinner to celebrate Pete´s birthday at a restaurant owned by an English expat and had bangers and mash and sticky toffee pudding - ok I know it´s not very local but it was good!
