Bangkok, Thailand
From Round The World in 3 Months in Bangkok, Thailand on Mar 11 '07
After a very long flight, with two very hungover passengers,(Nath and I carried onto Pacha afterwards until 6am!), we landed in Bangkok and spent one night in KohSan Road. We had reasonable accommodation, but its location was perfect - right on KohSan Road. First thing, we took off all the London layers as it was about 38 degrees and its been almost 2 years since I've been in that kind of heat. I felt a bit overwhelmed in Bangkok, whether it was just because it was my first stop or if it was just the overwhelming number of locals and tourists - I felt like a fish out of water. Culture shock perhaps? I pretty much couldn't speak the whole time we were there.
During our short visit, we had some awsome Thai curries and this being my first visit to Thai, I had loads of fun getting a city tour in the tuk-tuk. We did have a brief look at the shops - which reminded me so much of KL, Malaysia.
