ok So yesterday......after 2 hrs on a plane, 2 hrs on a bus, and 3 hrs on a train... we arrived in Munich! Our hostel is awesome. clean, great location, and safe! We share a room with 3 other Americans from Seattle. Not bad! We are also across the street from the oldest brewery in Munich.....Augustiner.. We went there for some steins and had a blast, we also met the Switzerland football team and they showed us a grand exit by singing in a conga line....with their pants down! It was all a beergarden could be.....lost of drunks singing on table tops.....HILLARIOUS!

Today we went on a free 4 hr tour of Munich saw all the sites and ended at St. Peters church where we climbed 308 steps to view a panoramic view of the city. Our tour guide was actually canadian so we understood the tour. Despite the rain and cold, we huddled around the city, had time for a schnitzel nd even befriended a canadian traveler by the name of Scott.

We had enough of the rain and the tour and dragged Scott to the most famous of all beergardens, called the Hofbrauhaus. This is the site of the world famous Oktroberfest. Essentially the establishment is a huge hall that is able to seat 2500 beerdrinkers at any given time- and even at 3:00 PM it was nearly packed. And not soley tourists were in the Hb House- it was apparent that germans really like their beer. Each beer was served in a "stein" bigger than our heads and equalling a liter. We were there for more than the intentional "one beer" and much ,much longer than we would like to admit. But we decided that like Rome- " When in Munich, do as the Germans do- so we kept drinking." We met tons of people and enjoyed table hopping. We decided after Sarah's attempt to balance a half full beer stein on her head that it was time to go.

After leaving the HB House, we got safely to our hotel and started blogging- which some of you may have caught onto the fact that we should not have been doing at that point in time- our grammar and vision was extremely hazy, thus this new and improved travel blog.
ok, now it's my turn....Liz has been typing and she seems to make it a point to say how I behaved......the tables are turning. So as we tried typing this infamous night...I kept turning around to ask Liz for some help with the blog but everytime I turned around she was welcoming people into our hostel. 3 such fellows were Brady, Sean, and Matt (?). From Idaho (?). Did I mention our hostel has a 24hour open bar.?! As I turned around and realized Liz was gone......I noticed she had made 3 best friends and was heading to the bar. Just a note...later that evening I saw that Liz only had one flip flop on, and Brady was also missing one sock and one shoe. This was what Liz later described to me as "Did you know that Brady and I can both clutch apples with our feet?"

It was at that point that I knew it was time to leave!!
See you tomorrow!
