The day after returning from the Algarve I had to fly out to Portugal again on business to Lisbon and then picked a car up to drive to Coimbra in the central north of the country. Having never heard of it it was a really pleasant surprise to discover a beautifully preserved mediaeval university town in a corking natural setting.
