So we headed off from San Jose on the 10am bus, arriving in Puerto Viejo de Limon some 5 hours later. Having checked into our two-bedroom huts, four of us girlies headed off in search of the 'nice' beach - about a 15 minute walk away. Unfortunately, by the time we got there the sun was so low in the sky that the beach was in the shade. Still, it didn't stop us grabbing a beer & chilling out, having a good girlie gossip!

The next morning we caught the bus down to the Manzanillo National Park. After some totally GORGEOUS pancakes (as you can see the diet's going really well!), we headed off on a guided tour around the park. We were taught about the uses of various plants & trees, saw a couple of snakes, a caiman & turtle, plus a sloth! We were trying to explain to Motoko, the Japanese mother, what a sloth was & her response was, "Ah! A dull monkey!", & so the sloth was re-christened.

After the walk we headed back to the beach & this time made it before the sunset :o) Had a lovely afternoon relaxing in the sun & splashing about in the waves.
