hi again everybody!

it is sunday night here again and i still cant believe how fast the weeks are flying by.  we are really in the groove with school now, used to the schedule and all.  we have started to do practice rounds of teaching in front of the whole class which is nerve-racking but good for us also.  i have mine on friday so we'll see how it comes together for me.  i have had a fantastic weekend hanging out on the beach and sleeping in.  since i did so much stuff up at school last weekend, i took this weekend off and just played.  friday after school i got some really good snorkeling in off haad salad and then came in from the sun for my usual chat date with my boyfriend, michael.  i look forward to our chats all week and it is a nice way to keep in touch with home.  if anyone has gmail, let me know and we can chat too.  we finished up in time for me to catch the sunset, which is awesome now because the sun has moved since we got here and we can see it go all the way into the sea now beyond the point of the bay.  i just spent the rest of the evening bouncing around haad salad hanging out with different students who i hadnt spent much time with yet so it was really fun.  saturday was my day to sleep in so i made sure to wear my ear plugs so the roosters wouldnt wake me up and i actually managed to sleep until ten am.  it was lovely.  i had a lazy morning and then headed back down the beach for some pizza and then more snorkeling.  it was full moon yesterday and there was a lunar eclipse on top of that so we were very excited to see it.  we decided that we were going to stay up all night because it was supposed to happen at 3:15 am.  we had an amazing night exploring the bay, climbing on rocks, and looking for caves.  we got all ready to watch the eclipse on a friends porch but alas the moon stayed full and bright until about 4:30 am when i decided to head home because i had to get up early to watch other people's teaching practicums.  of course the eclipse ended up going from about 5 until 6.  so i missed it after all that but i still had a crazy night exploring so it was worth it.  i will just have to catch another lunar eclipse someday.  he he who knows how often those happen.  after the class today i headed to another yoga studio down the road from us that is run by a really cute british family and they have an aromatherapy steam dome.  it was amazing just sweating out the weekend and i left feeling so rejuvenated by eucalyptus in my lungs.  i am definitely going back there.  so i finished up today with more time at the beach, another snorkel, another amazing sunset, and finally a bit of studying for the test tomorrow.  so i had a nice weekend of indulgences in food and fun so i feel ready for the intensity of the course again.  i may even go on that brown rice diet this week and see what that does for me.  thats all for now i guess.  i hope this finds everyone having some fun and feeling good.

lots of love,

melissa

oh you sound so happy honey i'm so glad! i'm quite jealous right now of your island lifestyle which i so greatly adore... i know you will do very well when it's your time to teach the class. so you missed this one but you're in luck there's another total lunar eclipse this year on aug. 28, and a partial solar eclipse coming up on march 19...
