Cliff's Notes.
From From snow to sun. in Pensacola, United States on Jan 13 '07
So Josh and I decided to move to Pensacola, Florida for various reasons...
1) More job opportunities.
2) A chance to get into the Air Force Officer Program
3) The beach.
4) To be around my family.
5) The beach. (Such a good reason, it deserves to be mentioned twice)
A lot has happened so I'll give you cliffs notes on the highlights and more info on stuff that is interesting to me.
January- We moved here, we applied for jobs, we stayed with my brother and sister in law for two weeks and we enduldged in the joy of cooking. I was Betty Freaking Crocker for a while and I loved every second of it. We attempted to go to the beach but it was still in the 50's. We poked around some national parks, but they are still kind of torn up from the hurricanes. I'm sure that by mid spring they will be stunning again.
February- I was hired by First Gulf Bank, took a part time with Starbucks (It's like caffine and I'm addicited.) and was put on a waiting list and hired with Bell South (Start date in May or June.. Josh starts on April 2nd). I turned 25 and my brothers and sisters had birthdays too. It was a cake eating month and every night was a night to play spades with my family. I made everyone go to Mardi Gras with me and we had a contest to see who could get the most beads. No one whored it up and had to expose anything. It was very PG.
March- I worked 60+ hours a week and Josh worked on his body and tan. But don't worry, a get my reward for beeing a worker bee in April. More on that later. We went to the beach at least 3 times a week when ever we got time off. My nephew Ryder was baptised and turned one on the 9th. My sister Maricel had a baby boy named Glenn Anthony on the 21st of March and my sister in law turned the big 30 but she got to spend it in the Bahamas. We drove a little along the coast and got to see what Destin was like as well as Fort Walton and Navarre. I had what I like to call a "storegasim" when I found this surf shop called Innerlight. I swear that this is the best store in the world. It has the kinda clothes that I wear, fun bags and accessories, a wall of flip flops and bathing suits, new and used surf boards, skate and long boards, and everything a beach bum could want. I'm not much of a shopper but this store is going to get me into trouble and I love it. I made a couple of friends at the Bucks and the Bank. I work downtown so I got to walk around it and meet the locals. I was in a commercial for Pensacola News=) and thats pretty much it for right now. Stay tuned for the details.
