The Jersey shore should look to replicate the way beaches work in Greece.
Today we decided to visit the famous Super Paradise Beach; Plintri is a magnificent beach with crystal-clear blue water in a small but deep bay. Nudist beach, used to be a mainly gay beach. Today it is mixed. We took a taxi to get there, 20 Euros with tip. Yet another winding road along the hillsides of the island – I thought I was going to throw up.
It was about 11ish when we arrived; we wanted to make sure we got good seats and we did. We had a good view of everyone coming in and out of the water taxis and also by land. As for the nudity, there really wasn’t any; just this chippy from London who was in front of us. She was totally talking to us as if everything were normal. Good thing Eric had his sunglasses on, if not, the lady would’ve been so skeeved out. There were also a lot of families, like younger kids. This one kid, about 4 or 5 years old, reminded me a lot of Zacky; dark skinned, raspy voice and talks a lot – super adorable! He was singing Abba’s “Mama Mia” and “Honey, Honey” along with his dad’s iPod. He sang each song like twenty times or so.

What’s cool about the beaches in Mykonos is that it has permanent umbrella and the beach chairs are already laid out. http://www.travel-to-mykonos.com/place.php?place_id=18 It’s 3 Euros for the umbrella and another 3 for each chair. In addition, there is a bar where waitresses take your order and everything; pretty luxurious. The Jersey shore should look to replicate the way beaches work in Greece.
Anyways, I fell a sleep while getting some color. Eric was getting pretty bored that he decided to read my new book, “Kite Runner”. I guess he didn’t bring any reading material, thinking he was going to get entertained with some gratuitous nudity. He was so pissed.
We decided to leave around 4:00, that’s the time the beaches actually get packed. The taxi picked us up, ascending our way through the windy/curvy roads. I felt so noxious; I was getting worried that I would pass out again. My stomach felt really empty. Eric kept shaking his head saying, “I can’t take you anywhere”. I felt bad because the day may have been over if I passed out again. I dug deep to keep it together, what I really needed was ginger ale and a really good burp.
I insisted we proceed to Mykonos town, as planned. There was no ginger ale to be found; instead I went for a Sprite. I wasn’t going to allow my body to let me down once again. I stayed under the shade as much as I could – all I could hear in my head was Eric…”I can’t take you anywhere…” I really wanted to prove him wrong.
So we spent a couple of hours in town going in and out of gift shops and such. Eric had his usual gyro as I was trying to keep hydrated. The heat in Greece is a lot like the summers in the east coast, just not as humid. I was surprised that my allergies were acting up. I thought I’d leave it behind, but there was no escaping it. My body is really demonstrating 3 decades of the use an abuse I’ve given it. Unfortunately the smoking doesn’t help either. I thought I could do without, but I was mistaken. I am, however, really so proud of Eric. He took a drag of my cigarette once and he was like, “gross!” Good for him. I know he’s not happy about me, but I also didn’t want to be cranky. Enough about that.

I took a lot of pictures while we were in town. The colors are so striking in this town. I was really fascinated about the bold paints on the doors. I want to make something out of it. I don’t know what yet, but I took a bunch of pictures of all the different kinds & colors of doors.
We went back to the hotel to change for dinner. We went back to town for dinner. We ate at Kounelas. It was recommended by Andreas – good thing we took his advice; it was, yet, another delectable meal. I had a 3-pound lobster & Eric had sea bass. WOW! Best lobster I’ve ever had. At first, I was being demure about it, but I said, “F it - this is too good to miss anything.” I insistently placed my fork and knife down and started eating with my bear hands. Now I know why my mom & dad love to eat with their hands, especially seafood. It was a good decision. I even convinced Eric to do the same.

After dinner, we walked around to the other side of town. A side we didn't get to yesterday. There were more shopr and restaurants, or what they call tavernas. To our shock, we encountered a 4-foot pelican. Actually, there were 3 of them. I think it was owned by one of the tavernas, either way, I was scared. It llok like it was ready to attack. I don't know much about them, but what I do know is that I didn't know the first thing about defending myself against a pelican. They were huge!
