When we booked a holiday to the tropics, little did we think we'd end up being kicked out of our 4WD Toyota Hilus and having to squelch our way bare foot and ankle deep UP a mud slide. Well guess what... Yes, the highlight wasn't the underground river (though that was jolly nice) but our onward journey to Port Barton when we got stranded on an unpaved road after a downpour turned it to terracotta fudge. With pointy rocks in. A passing Caterpillar (the one that had dug up the road) took pity on us and gave us a tow. The tow rope snapped twice, we rolled/slid backwards down the hill. Strangely, once we got out and walked, the driver got up the hill. So much for the dieting.

After that 18 hour epic journey from Manila, we arrived here in Port Barton. And today Justie did his first snorkel. Here he is to tell you about it in literally a sentence cos the generator is about to go off here for the night...
Ouch! I have snorkeller's buttock!
Justie like snorkel. It good. Oh no, that two sentences. Justie stoopid.
Justie also have snorkeller's calves. And I have snorkeller's buttock. Damn, that sunburn stings. If only one could snorkel upsidedown or with eyes in the back of the head.
PS This afternoon we met a guy from Stafford who's bought himself a beach. Only 35K... makes you think. BTW Dave G Hesketh says hi to everyone who knows him back in the West Mids. But, that he doesn't miss them.
Magandan harpon doods. Next bulletin in a couple. x
