We've started taking a sculpture class now.  Except it's more like an English class for the Polish people.  There are so many "TA's" in there trying to translate what the Polish speaking professor is telling us.  Right now we are creating a dynamic piece using three shapes.  So basically we just play with the mud and the professor comes around and he tells me something in Polish and the girl that tries to translate for him says struggling, "Um..umm..you need to have...umm..shapes...together."  However, I don't think that's what he said.  Based on the length of time he was talking and how he picked up my model and did lots of hand motions, I think he was saying a little more than that.  So, it's a lot of fun, but I think they're using us to practice their English.

A few days ago, Dianna, Emily, and I went to the grocery store and got ingredients for chili, salad, cornbread, chocolate chip cookies, and sweet tea for everyone on our floor.  Most of the girls made the food.  We made three big pots of chili, a big pan of corn bread, two big bowls of salad, a few dozen cookies, and about 10 liters of sweet tea.  It's really funny because no one here has had sweet tea or knows what it is.  Everything was delicious and it was all eaten up very quickly.  About 25 people from our floor came to eat.  It was a lot of fun eating and talking with everyone.  I talked to Yota, from Japan, and we talked about our differences in culture and politics.  He knows way more about America than I do about Japan.  And, he thought the whole idea of hazel eyes was really weird.  A lot of the people did, actually.

It blows my mind that there are so many people from so many different countries, and we're living in a country with a different language than our own, and almost everyone on our floor speaks English.  It is the one language that almost everyone on our floor knows.

A couple nights ago the students at our university threw an international party for everyone.  It was a lot of fun.  We played foosball, drank free beer, and danced.  So fun!
