5.06.2007 At Sea in The Med

Today is a cool day weather-wise today with the usual activities to keep us busy. Sallie and Joanne missed Bingo due to appointments at the hairdresser. Over the past weeks a fierce rivalry has developed between the two sides (Port and Starboard) of the bingo group resulting in very loud BINGO calls by the entire side when a fellow team member scores. Today the other team showed up in uniforms and made a big deal of it. One of their members, Tiffany James-the one who brought 36 suitcases- had called her son in Mass. and had him make up nightgown size T shirts with a very attractive logo, “TEAM BINGO” and ship them to Valencia. They own a clothing factory. The team marched in at the last moment wearing their “Uniforms” and making far too much noise. To make matters worse, a member of their team won all but one game played. You see what happens to old people who spend too much time at sea.

At 5 PM right on schedule we were at The Rock of Gibraltar leaving The Med and entering The Atlantic on our way up to Lisbon. We will be back here after two days there. Tonight was a formal dress night and ideal location for the biggest and fanciest private party we have attended while aboard given by Joanne and Hayden Eaves of Pasadena, Calif. on his 62^nd birthday. Fifty attended and cocktails were served on the La Terrazza Veranda and dinner in La Terrazza. It was a little chilly out on the veranda but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The West’s and the Wallace’s were seated with Enzio,the ship’s concierge, and Manuel, the ships Director of Tour Operations. Unfortunately, Manuel had a problem come up and couldn’t stay. The Eaves are a great pair and made sure everyone had a great evening.
