Penang - Langkawi

On Wednesday we had a lazy day on the beach, the night before i had burger and chips, just what i'd been craving! Also on Weds decided to treat myself to a massage, backpack is not good for my back! i had the massage on the beach, the guy insisted on showing me all his certificates before he would start. He did my hands and popped my fingers then proceeded to give me the most painful massage i have ever had but also the best! He cracked my back and cracked my neck better than my chiropractor has ever managed. All for 3GBP! In the evening we went to a hawker centre for tea. went to a bar on the beach for a beer before bed and were joined by a local guy who grew up in the USA. He was a very  content man who enjoyed giving advice from his own life experience and certainly liked the sound of his own voice, say no more!

Yesterday we were picked up and driven to catch the 8:30am ferry. 3 hours later we arrived in Langkawi. Took a taxi for the 25 mins journey to the resort of Pantai Cenang. The hostel we had booked to stay couldn't have us for the 3 nights we needed so we were taken down the road to the alternative accommodation they had arranged for us. it was a bit more expensive so they paid the difference! we checked in and went up to a very big twin room, much nicer than anywhere we have stayed. we looked out of the window to what i can only describe as paradise! white powder sand and sparkling blue sea with views of lush green islands in the distance. went straight to the beach to sunbathe. after had a great evening, meal at a chill out bar on the beach, walked around to explore and back to the same place we ate for sangria. chatted to the owner and staff and saw 5 shooting stars (and no it wasn't the drink before you think that)!

Today we got up early and got a lift to the airport as it's 1 of only 2 places on the island that has an ATM! sunbathed again all day. also saw the biggest amount of jellyfish, they are everywhere on the beach, some as big as 2 foot long! will upload a photo hopefully by monday.

Tomorrow we are booked on an island hop trip which includes snorkeling, looking forward to seeing the coral and fish.
