After sleeping in, finally, until 9 AM -- noon in TX and 1 PM in DC, we headed down to the salmon spawning. Lots of big red fish , but not much spawning going on. At least they did not seem to be having fun, just hanging around. Then, on to the Denali Hwy, where we enjoyed a 3 mile hike through the Tundra. Gladys tested her ultrasonic mosquito deterrent and it seemed to work, except around Susan who seems to be a big mosquito magnet. We all smelled like DEET. The highway was a little muddy, but passable and scenic. It is a great shortcut to Denali, just did not see any wildlife over 6 inches tall. They must all be in the capture and release program at Denali Park and plan on seeing them tomorrow.
Are we there yet??
