Wow! What a great city! There is so much to see here. The Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon...fountains, monuments...you name it - it's probably here! Not to mention Vatican City is just a stone's throw away from everything. Rome was great...you have this weird feeling like 'Hey I'm walking on ancient Roman stones' and you just feel priviledged to get that opportunity.
Touring around the Colosseum was a definite highlight for me. It was neat to walk around in a building that is so grand. You can just imagine what it would be like in its prime and its overwhelming. And, the best thing about Rome is that it's in Italy...so you can still take in some great Italian food. In Rome I had the best bruschetta of my life. It was like nothing we would get served at home. I highly recommend it! We also had a walking tour with a local guide and she was a spunky Italian that during our tour told off another tour guide because he wasn't authentic Italian
Feeling like a Gladiator!
