Day 5/6

Today we drove to Jasper, so spent the vast majority of the day in the vehicle. We stopped a few time for photo opportunities and leg stretches. We got to camp just before 3pm and set up camp then we went in a shopped for the next 2 night’s meals and lunches. I cooked tonight with Rainer; we did marinated chicken and burger patties with salad and corn on the cob cooked on the BBQ. It was enjoyed by all. After dinner we went for a hike to a ridge to watch sunset, it was supposed to be a 20 minute walk and ended up being 1.2 hours due to incorrect info from a ranger, and it was bloody close to pissing down so we got to the peak took a few crap photos and headed back to the bus. We got back to the camp just before the rain set in.

Friday 7 July 2006

This morning we went of a cruise on the Maligne Lake up to Spirit Island, tried to rain again. Then back to town, souvenir shopping and then went swimming at Pyramid Lake. Then we went on a walk around Pyramid Island and then back to camp, with a bit of time to catch up on life.
