Tuesday, January 16, 2007 (7pm-Peketa Beach,Kaikoura)

- At approx. 7pm we have come upon an ocean side Holiday Park (campground), called Peketa Beach near the coastal town of Kaikoura. Upon inquiry we have decided to park ourselves here for 2 days.The park owner, Digby,seems pleasant & interesting, he offered us our first local meal (freshly caught crayfish by Digby himself). The kids have bolted to explore, Jacqueline & I are busy finding a home for all our 12 bags!! The Corona & locally caught Crayfish where amazing!

Their all driv'n on the WRONG side of the road!

Wednesday, January 17, 2007 (PeketaBeach, Kaikoura)

- our first night in the RV, sooo…this is going to be our living/travel arrangements for the next 2 ½ months!!! (not quite sure what we have gotten ourselves into here). The holiday park is great, sleeping by the ocean was great, this small space…not so great. If nothing else we are going to learn the meaning behind co-operation. And are we ever going to get to know one another well during the next 2 ½ months. Unfortunately (for the boys), we must get caught up with their schooling, the majority of this day will be spent with the boys and their curriculum and getting caught up with my journal. The boys managed to scrounge up enough drift wood from the beach earlier to have our first Oceanside fire prior to bed. Night sky cleared off & offered us an outstanding view of the Milky Way.
