Keri Keri, The Bay of Islands, and Puhoi

Ended up in Keri Keri for the night.. ate at a great place named Citrus and had a few beverages... the next day, drove to Paihia and rented Sea Kayaks for 4 hours.

Great views and a fun paddle. No pics due to weater/water.. but, the best part was Brittany falling in. Sweet revenge, as she had laughed last year as I performed a flying dismount into Lake Erie. Her landing was much better, as she was completely under and flipped her kayak over to boot!

Lucky she saved the camera bag!

Then, on to Puhoi Hotel. We were going to stay the night at the local hotel for our last night in NZ.. but, they were booked solid for the annual lumberjack competition. No joke. It was one of those Stihl events.. hotsaws, double bucks, etc... big deal here.

But, a local overheard our dilemma and offered us a spot at his house. Only in NZ... so, we drank with Dennis, David (The largest human I have ever seen.. who told me one fist is worth 10,000 words!!), and Amigo.. the friendly barkeep.

Brit left a ton of wounded soldiers on her 'piss up'.. but, held her own for a run at midnight.

Dennis and I had a few more.. holding on till 2 AM listening to Beatles Records, talking about politics, music, and fun stuff. He gave us Yanks the OK and said we could stay at his place anytime.

That's the way NZ is. Friendly and open... wild and wonderful. I will truly miss this place and all of my friends. Take care all, and see ya soon!
