Wien - Haus für Holly

We arrived in Wien from HK via London.  After boarding in HK and ready for take off a family decided they didnt actually really want to fly at all so we waited as the baggage handlers searched through the hull for these 4 bags - resulting in a very stressful sprint for us in london for our connecting flight and arriving in Vienna to find josh´s bag didnt make it - oh well, we got it a few hours later anyway but what a time to decide that flying wasnt for them!

So Wien is experiencing some effects of global warming - with the warmish weather resulting in some plants thinking that it is actually spring(April) and they have begun to bud - the cold will soon come, but it means they will take longer to grow when april eventually does arrive.  We are still wearing beanies and scarves anyway.  Silvia and Nefra (Hollý Host mum and host dog!) were waiting at the airport.  We did a quick tour around the city centre, saw Stephansdom - the amazingly big City church which is the city centrepiece.  We visited Holly´s second hostfamily and went to the Schönbrunn christmas markets for some warm punsch (a few too many can be lethal - full of rum yum).  Wien is a big and beautiful city with amazing old buildings.  The people are either charming or awful - waiters are really impatient but the general Folk can be quite friendly - or boozed.  Went for a night out on the town with Fabian (Hollys host bro) and then packed for Innsbruck - 6 hour train ride from East to West Austria.
