A single trip to Taman Negara (National Park), located in peninsular Malaysia. It is one of the oldest tropical jungle in the world.

It was a company trip, 3D2N, but spend only half day to trek Taman Negara. Since everything is organised, so there is nothing much to do, but there are many options available if you are on your own; trekking thru the thick jungle, camping, fishing etc. Luckily, the weather condition is great, too good to be true during this monsoon season.

Boat trip cruising Tembeling river (Sg. Tembeling); there are a few type of service boats. Mine can cater around 8-10 persons. Spend 10-15 mins from the main jetty to reach the Canopy Walkway thru the river route (or you can opt to trek thru the jungle). Scenic journey & lotsa excitement especially when break thru rapid stream river against the river flow direction.

Next is the Canopy walkway. Trekking up a bit to reach the starting point. Beware of leeches & lots of other creepy crawlies!! We were told that it is the longest walkway in the world, total length ~ 500 mtrs. A hanging rope bridge constructed with planks & ladders and covered with net. It's not a straight bridge, mounted to trees with a few short stops, nice view ; 50 mtrs above the ground & it shakes a lot. One of the must-do stuff, quite fun!

Continue with boat ride again to visit one of the aborigin settlement. Located next to a nearby river banks where you can see a number of huts built from type of palm tree leaves. It was told that the group size will consist of 3-4 families. We were briefed about their living, demonstrated to start fire without matches & being taught to use their local weapon (sumpit).

Finally, the last part before leaving Taman Negara, getting wet! Assigned to build our own raft & padling back along the rapid stream (but only for a few hundred mtrs) sigh! Looks good to kayak if coming back here.

Overall, it's not that bad at all. Lots of activities, facilities is there even not up to certain expectation. May consider to come back again to conquer Gunung Tahan?? Hopefully.
