Well Quebec lived up to what everyone was telling me about it. the drive up from montreal was pretty uneventful, i don't even have a getting lost story. i stayed in the HI hostel right in the old city, only pain in the ass was i had to pay for my parking as well. the city itself is amazing. i could walk around it and sit drink coffee  watching the world go by for a good number of days.even though i knew before they had preserved much of the old city i was still surprised by it all. went to the citidelle for the changing of the guard cermony. it was funny to see the guards in their british redcoat uniforms and haveing their orders shouted to them in french. hung out in te plains of abraham parks for a couple of hours where i proceeded to turn a nice shade of red. there was the new france fete going on as well so had all the participents going around in period dress.

plus was relived to find out city had a good nightlife. hostel had a bar which was great to meet some people to go drinking with. was a good night and of course i had my 4am poutine(fries, gray and chesse curds for ye non canadians

Then in was on to river de loup for a night. not much happening in that place but the drive up there was pretty enoungh once i got off the highway and on to the back roads. but hostel there was nice. they would put on a three course dinner for $ 8 for whoever wanted it and we all sat around a big table and then spend rest of the night drinking beer on the porch. when up the town center for a bit but it was so dead. and this was friday night.
