Arrived at our hostel and immediately signed up for 'Texan Honky Tonk Bingo' with Chicago local, Ryan, and his friend Cynthia. A whole load of hostellers came along including an old Brazillian guy who I promptly played 'B-loco' to on my ipod, an Australian girl, a Saffa bloke who was there to teach 'male emotional intelligence'(!) and some others.
Our Texan bingo-caller was great fun although we weren't sure how Texan he really was. We all won at some point and I won Hank Williams Bingo (had to make an H with the numbers) - my prize was a beautiful $2 Indian goddess statue. Nice.

Everyone else left early and so Polly, Ryan, Cnythia and I headed over to watch the Chicago Bears win their "football" game. Discovered that Ferris Bueller's Day Off was filmed in Chicago!
Chicago was bloody cold - colder than London I'm sure - but we walked a lot of it and one evening went up the John Hancock tower with Cynthia for cocktails on the 95th floor.
I also went to the 'Field Museum' where I saw Sue - the largest T-rex, as well as lots of other interesting stuff, including a Tutenkhamun exhibition with things found in his tomb. Also had to scrape some poor little old lady off the floor who had decided to collapse rather than queue any longer.

The Chicago Art Institute was amazing, saw some brilliant photography exhibitions as well as paintings by Seurat, Monet and many others. Remember the slushy bit in Ferris Bueller? That's where it was filmed.
