After an hour and a half train ride, I was in the pretty town of Lille and was about to be swept off for some crepes with Elizabeth. After we met up, we walked through the mall that was nearby and were saddened by all the closed doors (things close pretty early compared to shops in the US).
I found Lille to a pretty town filled with shops, cool little streets, interesting architecture and plenty of places to eat. Elizabeth visits Lille pretty often and had heard of a great place to have crepes.
Then we met up with her husband and headed to Arras. (more later).
