Rick:

We made it to the Mediterranean!

And then there was the Mediterranean...

We joined the Eidos yesterday afternoon.  Barbara, the skipper, is really nice.  We are looking forward to a day or so in port before we check out a few of the islands nearby.

We are in a little beach town called Le Lavandou.  It is similar to beach towns in North America, but with less advertising and more atmosphere.  We just stopped by to check e-mail before we hit the beach.  Things are starting to get mellow and relaxed.

We are taking a lot of photos, so we will be able to really bore you when we get back.

Kyra:

And then there was the Mediterranean... it is as lovely as they say!

Once our bus dropped us off at Le Lavandou, we hiked down to the Marina and found Barbara and the Eidos at the "Capitainerie".  Barbara is a friendly and cheerful woman in her mid-fifties.  We berthed a boat to its temporary home - and proceeded to get acquainted.  Barbara and I went to explore the town and pick up some produce and such, while Rick hosed off the boat.  Le Lavandou has some lovely cobblestone streets (I see a trend ;) and numerous cafes; beautiful flowering bushes in vibrant colours - I feel like I'm in a scene in a movie!

We had our first meal on board, steamed artichokes anyone?  The fresh figs were a delectable way to end a lovely meal:

Rick and I chose the v-berth as our sleeping quarters - our cozy nest at the bow of the boat.

We spent the next day browsing through shops and walking through the quaint town.  We basked in the sun,  lying on the beach and absorbing the loveliness of it all...

Next... les Iles d'Hyeres - Porquerolles, Port- Clos

Hey kids, You two look so friggin'cute in the pictures. The ones of you two are awesome! For some odd reason seeing you at the dock almost made me cry (happy tears of course, but none actually made it out). It just made it real I guess and I am so happy that you guys are out there. It looks like so much fun, I can't wait to see all your boring pictures of the beautiful Mediterranean, ha ha. Well I have no cool new updates or dramas. Rosanne's Grad party is June 24th, so that should be cool. Well gotta go check the little one...miss you lots... love, the hendrix fam
