I am now 8 days in to my stay in Beijing, and i have already found it to be incredible place! One of the first things i noticed when i landed in Beijing, was just how polluted it was, however this varies from day to day, and some days you wake up to clear blue skies and fresh air! No matter how polluted the air, i found it is best to continue breathing it in....i find this keeps me alive!
A couple of days ago i went to see the Great Wall of China, and it is breathtaking. It is the kind of thing you see on tv and think you will never see, 'LIVE', so to speak! The shape that it cuts in the mountains is pretty spectactular. It got me thinking what an awesome fete it was that they managed build such 'beast' of a wall, that stretches for thousands of miles, hundreds of years ago!!
Great Wall of China....Breathtaking.

To get up to the Great wall, you get on board a cable car (i say cable car, it is more like a roller coaster!). As you chug your way up the mountain side, the incline gets so steep that you can feel the pressure on your lower back, an experience similar to climbing a big dipper at a top theme park, which shall remain nameless for legal reasons and for the fact that i can't think of a ride to compare it to! Although slightly touristy now, as you would expect, the great wall is one of my favourite experiences so far! Standing on one of its high points, you truely appreciate the magnificent scale of the thing! i have got some wicked photos, some of which i will upload to this blog! As they say, a photo can speak 1000 words, so i am just going to leave it at that for now!
