Calcutta, briefly

My train from Varanasi to Calcutta was 40 hours late, due to a train crash up north which disabled one set of tracks so all the other trains had to share the same track. One train went one way while the others waited, etc. Therefore, I lost 2 days of sightseeing in Calcutta. I arrived at 11:30 p.m. on December 5 and flew out the next morning, so I really didn't see the city at all.

I have quite a story to tell about my night at the Varanasi train station but it is too long to tell here. Next time you see me, ask me and I'll tell you about it.

5 weeks of solo travel on the Indian subcontinent have left me completely spent. This last train ordeal didn't help, much. I am ready for some R & R on Thailand's beaches.
