Esperance - or "Bay of Isles" is very beautiful and my favorite leg of our trip so far.  I had some recommendations from colleagues to make sure that we took in the "Great Ocean Drive" which has around 40 km's of majestic coastal scenery overlooking the southern ocean.    It was literally beach after breathtakinly beautiful beach as we spent the day cruising around from one picturesque spot to the next.  The beaches in this area are supposed to rate among the top in the world and it is very easy to see why.  The beaches are sooo white and the water a deep aquamarine colour.  The best part is that we literally had many of them all to ourselves - mile on mile of deserted beach - Nice.  The one thing we missed though, which I had really been hoping to see, were Kangaroos sunbathing on the beach.  There is a place called Lucky Bay, which is close to Esperance, in which this is supposed to be a common sight, but unfortunately the weather wasn't the best the day we were out looking - darn!  I think that would have been so funny to see.  We did however have hours of endless fun crawling over rocks, racing down the beaches, and trying to outrun the waves.
