Glacier National Park
From Alaska Trip 2006 in Glacier National Park, United States on Jul 26 '06
Traveled to Glacier National Park and got a campsite at the West Glacier KOA. Had our first big problem today, driving through Kalispell, MT, we were hit by a rock from a car or truck in front of us. Made a big star crack in the windshield, right in the drivers line of sight. With the help of the good folks at the West Glacier KOA, we connected with Auto Glass of Whitefish in Whitefish, MT. They will replace the windshield tomorrow morning. With this addition we have decided to stay an extra day in Glacier. We went into the park and drove to the Apgar Visitor Center and then up along Lake McDonald to the Lodge where we had lunch. After lunch we decided to drive up the Going-to-the-Sun Road to Logan’s Pass. WOW!! Driving that road is very intense but worth the effort. The scenery was breathtaking and we found several waterfalls and snowpacks. We also decided to take the 8.5 hour circle tour on the Windjammer buses. I am looking forward to seeing the scenery with someone else driving.
