We got up and got a taxi to the port in ko sumui to get out of there. At the port we met lots of people who shared our opinion of ko sumui ie to touristy. We got a boat for 2.5 hours over to surat thani and looked at the board of where to go. We realised we didnt have a clue what we were doing. We picked krabi and bought a bus ticket. We had to wait at the bus station ages, i think they had over booked or were just running really late and i sat at the bus stop not amused as i though what a crap way to spend your birthday. The bus arrived at around 7 and we started our journey. I was a lot happier now, its weird, in england i hate journeys but here it is such an adventure because you dont know whats going to happen. We arrived in krabi about 9.30 and didnt want to stay in krabi town. To get to the beaches we didnt realise you had to get a longtail boat. So we made our way down to the port a bit worried that our lack of planning was going to get us into shit. In the end we managed to get a boat and had to walk over a clay beach to get to it by torchlight. Trying to get in the boat was so funny. It was such a crazy experience. We had been travelling for 10 hours having no clue where we were going and we were sitting in a boat in the pitch black with the driver guiding the boat by torchlight. What an experience. We saw some light and the boat headed towards it, then we had to get out in the sea and wade through the water to get onto the beach. There was a man waiting there who offered us accomodation and we werent going to argue as it was so late. He took us up this path past a spa and an amazing swimming pool and showed us our room. It is lovely, hot water, double bed each and a toilet you can sit on with a flush. Amazing. Its a bit more pricey (about 3.50 each a night lol) but its so nice we are going to stay here for a while.

We had a quick shower and then went straight out to explore as it was 11pm so i still had an hour of my birthday and then it was lukes. We stopped at a bar playing great music and got a bucket and decided to brave it and try chatting to this big group of people. Ko sumui had put us off doing this. They were so cool and one of the girls, jo, was from essex, small world. We chatted to them for ages then took a wander down the beach where we met this crazy thai barman who thought we were nuts. Two other thai guys who were the most stoned iv ever seen were sitting next to us. We ended up spending the whole night propping up the bar drinking beer, and smoking with these thai dudes, one was called saki and the other we only knew as the boatman. Hilarious night. We woke up in the morning and this place is beautiful. Iv decided this journal in a way is pointless because you really cant describe things it really does it no justice. We will be here for a few days, its lukes birthday today and apparently one of the bars has got a fire show tonight so we will check that out.
