People in Tucson sometimes refer to Bisbee as a "little San Fransisco." Cooper mining made this town quite prosperous until the mines closed down 30 years ago. Rather than falling into decay, the town became inhabited by artists--which was natural given the towns beautiful architecture, excellent mountain scenary, and nice climate. Today, downtown is full of gallaries, excellent food, and nice B&Bs. A very relaxing place.
The mine tour is fun. Enter with low expectations and you'll be pleased.
