Guanajauto was a really nice nice scenic town, more of a tourist destination than Guadalajara and we straight away took to the place. There were loads of really colourful houses on the hillside that made for some great pics.
We went out drinking a few times in a place called 'Bar Ocho' (Eight bar) which sounds pretty close to Borracho which means drunk in Spanish. How apt. We played pool and met a friendly chap called Gorge who said we should come and eat at the Italian restuarant where he worked the following night. The food was fantastic and we had the best steak of the holiday so far (roll on Argentina).

We went to the 'Museum of the Mummies' one afternoon, which hosts a huge number of preserved human remains. It was all fairly interesting if a bit stomach churning. We later discovered that the remains hadn't been discovered, they were dug up from a cemetery because the poor families could no longer afford to pay the burial tax imposed by the government (or something like that). Guanajato pics here. Guanajato pics
