Day 6: Kom Ombo, Egypt
From Africa: Egypt (Cairo, Abu Simbel, Aswan, Kom-Ombo, Edfu, Luxor, Alexandria), Kenya (Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Samburu, Nirobi, Amboseli), Tanzania (Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, Lake Manyara) in Kom Ombo, Egypt on Oct 14 '08
the temple of sobek & haroeris is the most intact of the ancient temples. there were even mummified crocodiles found. as well as wells to trap crocodiles from the nile. so much of the ancient carvings are surprisingly well preserved. those not destroyed by man are still so vivid in color and in depth. the sunset light on the temple was breathtaking.
from kom ombo, we sailed to edfu. on the way there, we got to visit the swimming pool on the sun deck and watch sunset on the nile. the breeze was sweet and as the colors wash away into the night, we got to see one of the most amazing moon rises. and to top it off, after dinner, we had the sundeck to ourselves and danced!
