Wednesday: "Chris' Big Night Out"
From Induction Week in Jonkoping, Sweden on Aug 22 '06

After waking up at 9:00 in the morning to go to the computer workshop....nah, just kidding - I actually woke up around 12:30 with a raging headache and sick stomach. Once again we missed everything planned for the day, but I swear none of it was useful. Pre-drinking commenced again at 4:00 and our night was off and running (Note: sorry for all the stories about drinking, but this is seriously all anyone has done around here for the past week. I love Sweden!)
The night started off well as Tyson was once again drunk as a sailor by 7:00...precipitated by my new favourite game - "The circle of death" (basically a great little game to get drunk real fast). Afterwards, Tyson put on quite the show that involved rolling around on the floor with a chair in his hands, dancing on the table, licking the ceiling light, and attempting to eat a carrot...which wound up in pieces on the floor. It was at this point I contemplated buying a leash for him...but then I realized we just wouldn't be having the same amount of fun. The five of us (Kim, Chris, Sam, Tyson, and I) stumbled to the bus stop after calming Tyson down a bit and headed to the student pub, "Akademien" in an attempt to meet up with our University chums. The walk to the club was interesting - complete with myself sliding down a wet hill and crashing into a wooden barrier (big gash in my shin - not smart) and Tyson commandering a large metal thingy on wheels and crashing into an information sign. Suffice it to say, the sooner we got to the club the better off everyone would be.

This would turn out to be harder than expected however, as we were greeted with a line of roughly 200 people trying to get in (the club is actually fairly gargantuan). Being in the state we were in, there was only one option - find another place to drink and fast! Naturally the option was "Centrum", the only other place we could locate downtown, and let me tell you that place was absolutely...empty. Seriously, there wasn't a soul inside the place except for the owner, a bartender, and a DJ (??). Having absolutely no source of revenue meant only one thing...the five drunken idiots who stumbled up to their door were getting in!!! 3 of the guys inexplicably bought a round for everyone at the beginning, so at one point we had 15 pints of beer sitting on the table in front of us...a breathtaking sight.

Now a party isn't a party with 5 guys (well, I guess some parties are a party with 5 guys), so after getting some pictures with the less-than-impressed owner and staff we began to confront every girl on the street who walked by and attempted to get them inside. As you might be able to tell from the photos most if not all of them were not having a bar of it...but we didn't really care. After finishing the drinks and creating an impromptu dance floor (once again, owner not impressed) the night somewhat deteriorated...

Poor Chris passed out in front of the club and I was left to care for the guy, until the owner bluntly asked us to "take a walk" to the corner where Chris had a nap on some concrete grating. Tyson, Sam, and Kim apparently ended up inside a hotel where they somehow found a bike and went for a little ride...amazingly they weren't arrested. I went to bed that night wondering when my liver was going to finally give out on me...I think it responded "soon".
