University Life
From The First Week in Jonkoping, Sweden on Aug 27 '06
Just a quick write-up for those you are curious as to what University is like here in Jönköping:
The University itself is very modern; it was only built a couple of decades ago and consists of four buildings in the middle of downtown that house the Communications, Business, Engineering, and Education faculties. Each building is a different colour too, so it is impossible to get lost. There is also a lake just across the road from the Business building that shimmers majestically in the Autumn sun. I don't have any pictures as of yet, so hopefully that description can put a good enough picture in your mind for now.
...I hard a harder time getting through Junior High
The semesters are also worked differently here...specifically, each semester is divided further into A1 and A2 half-semesters. I am taking 4 classes this semester, so I only have 2 classes right now (in A1) and then will take 2 new classes starting in November. The classes I am taking now only have two 2-hour lectures a week, so Monday thru Thursday I go to the Uni for 2 hours, 10:00 - 12:00. Since the half-semesters are so short there are no midterms (only finals) and the assignments have to be kept to a minimum. Basically what I'm saying is that I hard a harder time getting through Junior High (there's also a lot less awkwardness). Apparently next semester will be getting a lot harder, but for now I'm just relaxing and loving my time here in Northern Europe.
