Yesterday, my parents, grandparents and I decided to spend the day in Uruguay.  After waking up at the crack of dawn we made our way to Puerto Madero to catch a high speed ferry called a Buquebus.  The boat ride took about 3 hours and landed us right in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.  Since we had no plan and no idea what Montevideo had to offer we decided to take a tour of the city in a big tour bus.  Our very enthusiastic tour guide took us around the city to see the various buildings, statues, theaters, plazas, beaches and monuments.  The tour was a great idea as we got to see all of Montevideo "sin maquillaje" (without makeup) in just one afternoon.  Even better we got to end our tour in a shopping mall where my mom and I bought handmade one-of-a-kind Uruguayan knit woolen items.  It was a great day trip for sure.
