Had abit of a lie in and after breakfast we went to Third Street promenade to ring home and we were glad to hear that everyone is well. We walked over to the corner of 2nd and Broadway and waited at the bus stop to catch the 534 to Malibu. We ended up waiting 1.5 hours before the bus decided to turn up but we did meet a nice local man and a family from Oz. The local man advised that the best beach to visit in the Malibu area is Paradise Cover so we got off at that stop and walked the short distance down to the cove which had a nice looking restaurant and small sandy beach. We both laughed on the way down as a caravan there had 2 plastic pink flamingos outside just like Neil & Gemmas bungalow used to have! We went for a nice walk along the beach and round into some more coves and sat on some rocks watching people surf. We thought these coves were nicer than Paradise Cove and there were some impresive looking houses on the cliffs above over looking the ocean. When we left we had to wait 35 minutes for another late bus! Once back in Santa Monica we walked to the supermarket but it was shut as there had been some electrical fires in the area that afternoon. On the way back we noticed more shops were shut and the police were directing traffic as the traffic lights werent working. After dinner we chatted with John & Nadine (people from Kent staying in our room) and later watched Dirty Dancing while waiting for our washing/drying. Weather sunny and hot again.
