Needing an overnight pit stop on our way from Sicily to Pompei, Paola had a B&B which suited us, but was also a pleasant suprise. Situated a minute’s walk from the beach and in very relaxed surroundings, we would have liked to spend more than a night here.

The coast south of the town had been developed to create artificial beaches behind rocky breakwaters. These areas were busy with mainly locals on holiday and had great little beach bars to chill out in. Our host spoke little English but was very friendly, to the point of giving us a ride down the road to a restaurant where we had some great pizza.

Walking home later, we were treated to a great view of the moon reflecting on the ocean from above the beach.
