Visting Old Friends in Aberdeen

After travelling to a number of exotic places, I thought it was about time that I did a trip in the UK.  It was also about time I caught up with a friend from NZ, Jonathan.  So a few days in Aberdeen was in order.

Aberdeen reminded me a lot of Dunedin.  It was good to get out into the countryside and to see the coastline again.  It was also good to spend time with someone from home.  We spent the first day going for a drive in the country, walking up a hill, visiting a castle and stopping at a stone circle.

In enjoyed a quiet day the next day wandering around the city and seeing some of the sights.  I even found some Moari artifacts in one of the museums!

One of the great things about spending time in Aberdeen was meeting some of Jonathan's friends.  There were really welcoming and inclusive.  We all enjoyed a picnic together one day (in the freezing cold).
