Nantucket is now a billionaires playground. Private jets by the dozen coming in and out of the small airfield. House prices very noticably higher than both the Vineyard and Cape Cod. And lots of construction ie more money coming in..

A really beautiful place. V upmarket commercially but completely unspoilt in terms of the physical environment. Pristine and wild beaches which have completely public access..a big difference with the both CC and MV.

We had a wander and then got a bike to drive the kids around in...which they adored. And went to a lovely park on the beach and then played on the beach itself and in the sea (wading out onto a sandbar) ..a really lovely family day in great weather.

Not surprisingly we felt that this is somewhere we'd like to go back to for longer.

We were here in October and loved the weather. The crowds were gone. We stayed at a bed and breakfast (Century House www.centuryhouse.com) on Cliff Road and loved its location: walk to downtown, beaches, restaurants, yet far away from the hustle and bustle. Suggestion: Something Natural has the best sandwiches.
