Spring break is over:(!  I spent three days in Marrakesh, which I have to say is one of my favorite cities so far!  I met up with Sadie, her boyfriend CJ (well, Abderrahim, but his friends call him CJ) and his sister.  We actually stayed at his sister's apt...three nights without paying for a hotel!  Awesome!  She was really nice and fun, as were her friends.  We all went out to a famous Marrakshi club Teatro.  It was fun, and interesting to see that students do the same thing everywhere, although in a different way!  (I'm more used to small, dim bars where people are playing darts, compared to the European style Techno clubs they love here).  So besides the nightlife, Marrakesh is just a happening city in general.  Tuesday morning, Sadie and I set out on a walking tour that was outlined in her trusty Lonely Planet.  Well, we started strong, but managed to forget about the tour and started wandering around.  Somehow we managed to wander into the Madina without even realizing it!  So I got to see the famous Marrakesh Madina.  I like it better than the ones in Fez and Casablanca.  The goods are of a better quality, its less crowded, seems cleaner somehow...And of course there is the square.  The main square in Marrakesh reminds me of an Orientalist's dream come true...there are snake charmers, fortune tellers, monkeys on leashes.  It was really nice, and I will definately go back to Marrakesh before I leave, inshaallah!!
