We really love Vancouver, within minutes you're convinced its a great place to live with so much going on and to do, plus the weather has been fantastic whilst we've been here (high 20's to low 30's - todays max being 33C).

Our apartment is in Davie village on the main peninsular just a short walk away from practically everything.  Apartment is pretty cool (bit of space, nice furnishings etc), but the best bit is the view from our balcony - wow.  We can see right across downtown and the bay area - mountains visible to our right (north), bridges and sea dead ahead and to the left.

Our activities thus far (we're going for a stroll to Sunset Beach later this evening and are back in Vancouver post cruise for a day or two):

Visited central and downtown - including Canada Place, Robson Street and Gastown ('historic' start of Vancouver)

Walked around Stanley Park (and lazily bussed part of it too).  Jane insists I mention she drew with me at pitch and putt.  I insist on mentioning the 2 strokes per hole handicap meaning I required a hole in one to half those holes where Jane hit par 3s (pre handicap).

Visited Granville Island and its markets (somehow missed the brewery we've since learnt is there)

Hired a boat and set sail around False Creek, getting a great view of central Vancouver from the water (OK it was an outboard motor so more chugging round at the 5km speed limit than sailing, although we did take a quick speed run out of the creek into the sea proper where we quickly found confidence waning as the conditions got choppier and returned to the safety of the inland creeks in less than 10 mins)

Visited Maritime museum in Vanier Park and walked round one of the first ships to cross the fabled north-west passage.
