Day 6
From Europe 2008 in Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, Germany on May 02 '08
Hello again!
Today, I took the tour to Neuschwanstein Castle, the "Cinderella Castle". It was really pretty. We took a tour of the inside but only a part of the castle was actually completed. I couldn't take any pictures in the inside, but I think I got a good number of pictures of the exterior. I walked over to this bridge where you can get good pictures of the castle. Well, it was jam packed with tourists, and its really high up. I hate heights. I did go sort of out onto the bridge got the picture I wanted and then bolted off. I walked back down the trail which was a lot better than on the way up. I had lunch at this restaurant. Ate bratwurst and a pretzel. It was ok.
We stopped at a Catholic church on the way back. It was really pretty. The inside was very ornate. I have lots of pictures. Before we headed back to the hotel we stopped by a wood carving shop. They had some really neat things in there. Some hand carved nativity scenes.
Tonight, I am going with Hannah and her friends to the Freuhling Fest (again not sure if I'm spelling it correctly). It should be really fun. The Freuhling Fest I believe is just another excuse for the Germans to drink and listen to music. I could be wrong though. I believe I am going to try a 1/2 beer 1/2 sprite combo and see how that goes. I'm not really liking most of the beer I have tried. Which was one last night at the bar....
The agenda for tomorrow is up in the air. I am sleeping in, I know that much. I am heading into Munich tomorrow evening. I would head in earlier but I know for a fact that shops are closed on Sundays there. I'll keep you posted. I have been really spoiled at Hannah's not having to pay for internet. These posts might get shorter.
