on the first day, i went to a church that was first created by native ecuadorian people and it was an unbelievable sight to see. the detail was outstanding and it all took over 200 hundred years. i also saw a golden church and this is something i think everyone should see....however, no pictures we allowed to be takin. so when i get home, i will have to describe it to everyone in person. then we went to the Casa de Blanca. casa de blana is like the white house of ecuador. it was really cool to see the guards standing outside and how they change every hour. i have already taken so many pictures and i cannot wait to show everyone when i get home. thursday i had my first chance to try true ecuadorian food....it was well....interesting. however, it is all part of the experience. i got stick that night from the food and altitude, but thank goodness im over it. i have already fallen in love with quito, but i am excited to get to cuenca in a few days. i know i have only been here 3 days, but i already miss my family and friends so much. this week i have spent a lot of money since i have to buy my own lunch and dinner everyday. however, that will calm down starting tuesday when i go to live with my host family...ahhhhh so nervous. but then again, i was nervous to come to ecuador, but im having a great time and already my spanish has improved. i miss everyone soooo much and o, sorry i am only now writing on my blog. things have been crazy and computer time is very limited here in hotelquito...well, until next time.....this is kendra from quito, ecuador. love everyone soooo much!!!!

i heart quito

Hi, KendraGoat, It's go good to hear that you are having wonderful experiences. It all sounds so beautiful, and we love this chance to experience it all with you. It's GREAT!!! Please continue to keep us up to date. Take care of yourself. I'm sure the SPN will improve by leaps and bounds once you are living and breathing it every day. My cousin in Springfield died last week, so I went to Decatur on Saturday. Paula, Bill and I went to the wake last night and then I drove home. Take care. Love MadreGoat
