We spent Tues 4/8-> Wed. 4/9 in Wall, SD as after driving around all day we were pooped! Or rather shall I say, Rich was pooped from driving all day. You see, I was not comfortable driving the pickup towing the Honda across country, so my chauffeur brought us across country.  Anyway our plans for Wed. were to head further west to Mt. Rushmore National Park. We awoke to find out that a snow "storm" was predicted right for the Mt. Rushmore and surrounding area. One of the hotel clerks called it a blizzard coming for Wed. night through Fri. AM. Taking our chances we packed up and headed to Rushmore anyway. The day was still with hazy sun, and some thickening clouds.....As we headed South toward Rushmore, the rains and WIND began, Now what do we do???? We turned around and headed back toward Rapid City, stopped at a visitor's center and learned that at Rushmore it was just cloudy, no snow, or rain. So once again, back on track. As we headed up the roadway toward Rushmore, the snow started. We parked amidst sleety, snow showers and headed over to the viewing area. Well, yes, we had a view of: can you name the four presidents? No cheating w/ Google either. Here's a hint: here are the names of their wives: Martha, Martha, Edith and Mary. Not even 5 mins after our view, pictures etc, then they were gone! The fog rolled in and that was the end of that! Thank goodness the parking pass is good until the end of the year so we can head back later.

We trekked back up north through Deadwood, SD, where Wild Bill Hickock(otherwise known as Wild Bill Coyote by Dee)  is buried. Quaint town, but it was evident where the wildfires had been...  We traveled into Wyoming and stopped for the night in Sheridan, Wy.
