CAMPUS HARVEST

This past weekend I and some others from Mount Olive College attended Campus Harvest in Durham. It is a conference where college kids from around the world gather to worship and learn more about God. It was a wonderful weekend.

The theme for the conference this year was His Presence His Purpose. It was about feelign God's presence in our life and figuring out his purpose for you. It was a weekend full of worship, devotion, fellowship, singing, dancing, shouting, gathering, love, and much more. It was a revival of the spirit and worth the trip. While we were there many spoke about taking a mission trip. A group called EVERY NATION promotes devoting ten days to God. Ten days on a mission trip is a minute sacrifice in the scheme of things. It is a small gift compared to the fact that God gave his entire life for us to save us. He never even met us and he gave His life. That is amazing.

I want to go on a mission trip. I think that I would like to go to Africa. During the conference we were so blessed to get to hear The African Children's Choir. They were awesome! All of the children have the lost their parents to AIDS or warfare. They now have residence in North Carolina. They are traveling around the nation. They have appeared on the Jay Leno show and are due to perform on American Idol next week. I want to go and make a difference in children's lives. Their innocent faces cannot help that they were put in the face of war and disease. They just want to be loved and cared for.

I hope I can go there one day. Until then I will keep praying.
