A little postscript from Maggie direct from the World Series...
I must be the luckiest person alive. After an amazing summer filled with baseball and fun, Anna and I found heaven in Fenway during our last game. Sitting right on the visitors' dugout, talking to Ron Gardenhire, getting a bunch of autographs...how could it get better?
Well, it gets better.
The postseason...great Sox comeback against the Indians. Anna got to go to the 1st game (in Fenway) and I was super jealous because I was already on my way back to Colorado. Back out here starting the ski season, we got together a whole pack of Sox fans to watch the playoff games. We laughed, we bit our nails, we couldn't sleep at night. When the Sox won and the Series would be coming here to Colorado, we were beside ourselves.

With lots of scrambling and lots of trips to the ATM, a core group of us got our hands on Game 4 tickets. The Sox were up 3 games to none, so this could be the clincher. It was a great game...nervewracking for sure, but awesome. The celebration in the park was awesome. Tons of Sox fans, lots of cheering and jumping up and down. For me, it was half disbelief and half satisfaction in what almost (almost) seemed a touch of inevitability.

From the celebration in the park we went to celebrate a bit in the streets and head over to the Palm restaurant, where the team's private party was being held. We'd made some team-employee friends earlier in the day, and they escorted us past the enormous pack of security guards, past the ropes, and right on in!
When I tell you that we partied with the players, you might not believe me. But check out the pictures...it's true. We talked to all the players, shook their hands...it was CRAZY. Tony C even got a hug from David Ortiz! Initiated by Big Papi himself! Didn't catch it on film, but it really happened. I got snug up with Julio Lugo and Jacoby Ellsbury (who is absolutely GORGEOUS...he's beautiful and has great body. Not that you'd expect less of a speedy little baseball player.) Mirabelli's pretty handsome, Dustin Pedroia is short of course (he's listed at 5'9" but I don't think he's quite that), Ortiz isn't quite as big as he appears on TV, but Schilling is WAY taller than he looks (he's listed at 6'5" and I believe it).

The people that I saw included:
Beckett, Timlin, Schilling, Okajima (I think), Kyle Snyder, Delcarmen, Papelbon, Wakefield, Varitek, Mirabelli, Ortiz, Youkilis, Pedroia, Cora, Lugo, Lowell, Ellsbury, Crisp, and Kielty. Also Larry Lucchino, John Henry, some player-turned-sportscaster whose name I can’t remember, and Rene Russo

Surreal. Absolutely mind blowing.
